Employment Counseling
CAPSH works with HIRED to provide employment services to low-income suburban Hennepin jobseekers. Services include individualized career planning, internships, education and training.  Call 952-697-1366

Energy Assistance
The Energy Assistance Program (EAP) assists low-income households to maintain affordable, continuous and safe home energy.  Eligible households can receive assistance to pay a portion of their energy and heating bills.  Energy-related repairs are also provided.  Call 952-930-3541 for more information.

Financial Counseling
Lutheran Social Services (LSS) works with CAPSH to offer on-site financial counseling.  Counselors provide free budget counseling, debt management plans, and financial education.  Call 1-888-577-2227 to schedule an appointment.

Food Support
CAPSH helps individuals apply for the county-administered Food Support Program (SNAP), providing them with money to purchase food for themselves and their families.  For more information call 952-697-1360.

Foreclosure Prevention
Foreclosure Prevention services help homeowners who are in danger of losing their homes because of foreclosure or tax forfeiture.  This program provides early delinquency intervention, budget counseling, lender negotiations and referrals.  Limited financial assistance may also be available for those who qualify.  For more information, call 952-933-1993.

Home Maintenance, Repair and Rehab
Post-purchase services simplify the home-buying process, helping prospective buyers understand the road to homeownership.  The Home Stretch Homebuyer workshops cover everything from client's financial and credit situations to the legal rights and responsibilities of owning a home.  The program also offers individual counseling.  To learn more about this program, call 952-697-1354.

Legal Services
CAPSH holds monthly legal services clinics at locations through suburban Hennepin County.  The Clinics provide low-income clients with the opportunity to speak with a volunteer attorney about legal questions and obtain information about going to court.  For questions and times and locations, call 952-697-1333.

Reverse Mortgage Counseling
A reverse mortgage allows homeowners 62 years of age or older to draw down the equity on their homes so they can have a regular income.  The money gained can be used to pay for healthcare, home repairs, or to meet daily living expenses.  CAPSH reverse mortgage counselors help seniors become familiar with their options and the application process.  Call 952-697-1302.

Savings Program
Family Assets for Independence Minnesota (FAIM) is a program that helps low-wage earners save money by matching each dollar they save at a 3 to 1 rate.  They money can be used towards purchasing a home, starting or expanding a small business or pursuing higher education.  To find out if you qualify for FAIM, call 952-697-1306.

Tax Assistance and Preparation
CAPSH provides free tax assistance to eligible low-income individuals and families.  Trained volunteers and CAPSH staff members prepare and e-file federal, state and property taxes.  Call 952-697-1304 for tax assistance.

Transitional Housing & Supportive Services
The CAPSH transitional housing program is designed to assist families, youth, and individuals who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.  The program helps participants move into/keep stable, affordable housing and ultimately become self-sufficient.  For more information, call 952-697-1320.
